Step into Fuxing Park, a verdant oasis in the heart of Shanghai's former French Concession that pulses with local life. Unlike polished tourist traps, this historic garden offers an authentic glimpse into daily routines, where elders practice tai chi at dawn, and families gather under plane trees. Once a private French club, the park now features elegant French-style roses, manicured lawns, and a central music pavilion hosting free weekend concerts. Stroll past the iconic clock tower or relax by the duck pond before exploring nearby Wukang Road's colonial architecture. It remains a cherished sanctuary where history breathes alongside modern vitality, inviting visitors to slow down and savor the city's gentle rhythm.

14-Day Essential China Tour from Beijing to Shanghai: Xi'an, Chengdu and Chongqing | Pandas, Great Wall, Terracotta Army and Yangtze River Cruise

Perfect first trip to China!

Great mix of cities and nature. Yangtze cruise was beautiful, Shanghai's Bund at night is stunning. Guides were awesome, helped with everything. Only wish we had more time in each place—so much to see! Worth every $$$.

Preguntas frecuentes sobre tours de Fuxing Park

What is the best time of day to visit Fuxing Park in Shanghai?

Visit between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM to witness authentic local culture, including tai chi groups and ballroom dancing. The park gets crowded with tourists by mid-morning. Early visits offer cooler temperatures and better photo opportunities without large crowds blocking views of the French-style roses and historic pavilions.

Which metro station provides the closest access to Fuxing Park?

Take Metro Line 10 or Line 13 to Xintiandi Station. Use Exit 6 for the most direct route to the park's north entrance on Fuxing Middle Road. The walk takes approximately five minutes. Avoid confusing this with South Huangpi Road Station, which requires a longer ten-minute walk through busy commercial streets to reach the main gates.

Is there an entrance fee to enter Fuxing Park?

No, entry to Fuxing Park is completely free for all visitors throughout the year. You do not need to book tickets online or purchase passes at the gate. Simply walk through any of the open gates during operating hours from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Some specific internal activities like tea houses charge separately, but general access costs nothing.

What seasonal events happen annually in Fuxing Park?

The park hosts a renowned Rose Festival every May, featuring over one hundred varieties of blooms. During autumn, chrysanthemum displays attract local photographers. In winter, the park remains open but lacks major festivals. Avoid visiting during heavy July rains as paths can become muddy. Check local listings for occasional weekend art markets near the south gate.
