Question 1

What is the best time of year to swim safely at Florence Falls Waterhole?

Swim only during the dry season from May to September. Crocodile risk is high, so never enter the water outside designated safe zones or during the wet season when currents are strong and visibility is poor. Always check daily park signage for current safety alerts before entering the waterhole.

Question 2

How do I get from Darwin Airport to Florence Falls in Litchfield National Park?

Accepted Answer

Drive south from Darwin Airport via the Stuart Highway, then take the Batchelor Road turnoff towards Litchfield National Park. The trip takes about 90 minutes. No public transport reaches the falls directly, so renting a car is essential. Ensure your vehicle has fuel, as service stations are sparse past Batchelor.

Question 3

Accepted Answer

A valid Parks Pass is mandatory for all vehicles entering Litchfield National Park. Purchase a single-day or multi-day pass online or at park entry stations.
