This museum is itself is made of ice and located within the Chena Hot Springs resort. Open year-round, Aurora Ice Museum contains ice sculptures such as life-size knights battling each other, an ice fireplace and chess set in addition to themed galleries. It was built in 2004 to increase tourism to the resort and was re-designed in 2005 using geothermal resources. The museum features an ice chandelier that changes color every six seconds reminiscent of the Northern Lights as well as an ice bar.

This was hands down the best winter trip I have ever taken. Every night brought new opportunities to witness the aurora, and we were incredibly lucky with clear skies.
