I tend to measure value by convenience and time saved, and those were stronger here than the extras. The combination of Los Angeles departure with Las Vegas airport drop-off, Antelope Canyon, and Horseshoe Bend made the days feel worthwhile. We did not expect to explore every place deeply; the goal was to see important stops like Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend, and for a first visit that worked well. I booked mainly for Antelope Canyon, yet most of my photos came from Horseshoe Bend. Grand Canyon was the stop I had barely researched and turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I was concerned that so many stops would feel like quick photo calls, but both Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend felt substantial enough to remember afterward.
It was a wonderful tour, thanks to both the places we visited and the company. A special thank you goes to Lorenzo, our guide, for taking us to these locations, explaining everything, and sharing the stories. He is a fantastic, knowledgeable person who clearly loves his job.
The light beams in Antelope Canyon are real, but timing is everything. Our Navajo guide showed us exactly where to stand and even took photos for us. Bring a wide lens - the canyon walls curve in ways that normal lenses can't capture. No tripods allowed on most tours, so brace yourself against the rock for stability. Horseshoe Bend afterward was a completely different kind of spectacular, and the late afternoon light there was perfect.
The trip was a great mix of nature and fun attractions. Seeing the Grand Canyon West Rim in person was incredible, and the Skywalk was definitely a highlight. The bright sculptures at Seven Magic Mountains were fascinating and perfect for photos. I also enjoyed the stop at the Ethel M Chocolate Factory, where we learned a bit about chocolate making and tasted some fresh treats.
