Best Hoover Dam Tours & Trips
This concrete marvel spanning the Colorado River in Black Canyon was built between 1931-36 and originally called the Boulder Dam until it was renamed in 1947 after United States President Herbert Hoover, who played an important role in getting it constructed. Hoover Dam extending from the states of Arizona and Nevada is one of the largest man-made structures in the world at 1,244 feet long and 726 feet high. It produces hydroelectric power, supplies irrigation water and prevents flooding. The U.S. National Historic Landmark that created Lake Mead is visited by more than seven million people annually. This tour suits travelers who want the main sights rather than a resort-style break; if Barstow Outlets and Grand Canyon West Rim are priorities, the route makes sense. I expected Barstow Outlets to be the highlight, but Grand Canyon West Rim ended up being the place I kept talking about after the trip because the two stops felt completely different. For pure scenery I would rank Barstow Outlets first, but Grand Canyon West Rim had the better atmosphere and was the place where I wanted a little more time. The itinerary is not built around one flashy selling point; a broad first-time overview of the West together with stops like Barstow Outlets and Grand Canyon West Rim made it feel like a well-rounded route.

The trip was a great mix of nature and fun attractions. Seeing the Grand Canyon West Rim in person was incredible, and the Skywalk was definitely a highlight. The bright sculptures at Seven Magic Mountains were fascinating and perfect for photos. I also enjoyed the stop at the Ethel M Chocolate Factory, where we learned a bit about chocolate making and tasted some fresh treats.

Memorable tour
Our family of three was on this tour in August 2017, and we are very happy that we went on it. It's very intense, with early starts and long bus rides but places we visited were worth it. We would like to commend our guide Chris and bus driver Jason for impeccable running of the tour. All aspects of it - transportation, food, activities, accommodation- were organized at high level. We liked the hotels except practical but rather 'tired' room in Reno and overly extravagant room in Las Vegas. Thanks to the company and all our fellow travelers for creating nice memories about this trip. The tour can definitely be recommended to everyone who wants to see the best places of this part of USA.
