5-Day Epic China Zhangjiajie Adventure Private Tour·Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Bailong Elevator, Tianmen Mountain and Phoenix Ancient Town

Walking the Grand Canyon glass bridge was terrifying but thrilling. Golden Whip Stream was a peaceful walk through the forest. The drive to Fenghuang is long (3+ hours), but the ancient town at night, with all the lit-up buildings along the river, was magical. Our private car was comfortable. A well-organized and memorable trip.

6-Day Hunan Private Tour· Zhangjiajie, Fenghuang Ancient Town, Furong Town, Tianzi Mountain, Baofeng Lake

This private tour was outstanding. The Pullman hotel in Zhangjiajie was luxurious, and staying four nights meant we never felt rushed. The Avatar mountains at Yuanjiajie are surreal — the Bailong Elevator is a must. Our guide was flexible and adjusted the pace for us. The only tiny downside is that lunches aren’t included, but our guide took us to great local spots. Highly recommend for a hassle-free trip.

3-Day Classic Zhangjiajie Private Tour with Lunch: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

This was my first solo trip to China, and I felt very safe and well looked after. The airport pickup was seamless. The Golden Whip Stream hike was my favorite part — so peaceful. The Bailong Elevator was thrilling. The only drawback is that the tour is physically demanding; lots of stairs and uphill walking. If you’re reasonably fit, you’ll be fine. A fantastic 3-day escape.

Preguntas frecuentes sobre tours de Ten Mile Gallery

What is the best time to visit Ten Mile Gallery in Zhangjiajie to avoid crowds and see mist?

Visit between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM to beat tour groups and capture the iconic mist rising from the karst pillars. Late autumn offers clear skies, while spring brings frequent fog that enhances the surreal landscape. Avoid Chinese public holidays when domestic tourism peaks significantly.

How do I get from Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport to the Ten Mile Gallery entrance?

Take a taxi or pre-booked shuttle from Hehua Airport directly to the Wulingyuan Scenic Area entrance, a 40-minute drive. From there, use the free park shuttle bus to the Ten Mile Gallery railway station. Public buses are cheaper but require transfers and lack luggage space for international travelers.

Is the Ten Mile Gallery sightseeing train included in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park ticket?

No, the park entry ticket covers access to the area but not the mini-train ride. You must purchase a separate round-trip ticket at the station, costing approximately 38 RMB per person. Cash or mobile payment via Alipay and WeChat Pay is accepted, so ensure your digital wallet is funded before arrival.

Can I walk through Ten Mile Gallery instead of taking the sightseeing train?

Walking is strictly prohibited on the railway tracks for safety reasons. The scenic valley floor is accessible only via the electric train or specific hiking trails that run parallel but do not offer the same continuous views. Stick to designated paths to avoid fines and ensure personal safety within the protected zone.
