Experience old and new Kuala Lumpur on this half-day guided excursion. After a convenient hotel pickup, visit sites like the elegant Istana Negara—the king's palace—the gleaming Petronas Twin Towers, and the huge national mosque.
First of all, we will explore the cavernous Batu Caves, with their Hindu shrines and a towering statue of Lord Murugan. The Batu Caves, also known as the Cave Temple, are one of the oldest caves in the world, estimated to be approximately 400 million years old. This Hindu Temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan. Here you will perform your workout by climbing up 272 steps to go inside the main cave.
Then, we will proceed to the Istana Negara National Palace, also known as the King's Palace of Kuala Lumpur. This is the official residence of the Malaysian King. The palace is not open to the public, so we will only stop for a picture session from the outside.
Next, we will visit the National Monument, the tallest freestanding bronze monument in the world. It was officially opened by Malaysia's first Prime Minister back in 1965.
After that, the tour continues to the National Mosque (Masjid Negara), the biggest mosque in Kuala Lumpur City. You will be amazed by its blend of architectural styles. (Please note that tourists are not allowed to enter during Muslim prayer times.)
Following the mosque, we will see Merdeka Square, known as the Historical Site of Kuala Lumpur. This is a very interesting site where you will see colonial buildings built by the British when Kuala Lumpur was a British colony.
Finally, we will stop at the Petronas Twin Towers, the main icon of Kuala Lumpur. If you visit Kuala Lumpur, you must at least take a selfie with the Towers. We stop here to snap some photos, and entrance fees to the observation deck are included.
