Alsace Day Tour from Strasbourg: Colmar | Eguisheim | Haut Koenigsbourg Castle

After check-in and boarding, we will depart for the beautiful town of Colmar. Discover the charm of Colmar's old town, Pfister house, Koifhus, Saint Martin collegiate church, and the picturesque neighborhoods of small Venice and the tanners. After a guided walking tour of Colmar, we'll depart for the beautiful village of Eguisheim. Surrounded by vineyards, the narrow and concentric streets highlight the architectural merits of its half-timbered houses, lovingly decorated with flowers. After a walk through the village, join us for a wine tasting to discover Alsace wines at a local winery. We'll then continue to the beautiful town of Riquewihr. Surrounded by ramparts, the village has been very fortunate to survive war and destruction. Its tiny streets, fortified walls and old houses have preserved their 16th century splendor. Free time for further exploration and lunch (own expense). The 60 year old Alsace wine route winds across the slopes between the Rhine valley and the Vosges mountains for more than 170 kilometers. The itinerary takes us across rows of undulating, vine-covered hills, through quaint villages with narrow streets and charming flower-decked houses clustered around the local church steeple. Finally, we reach Haut Koenigsbourg castle. Follow your guide for a tour of this mighty fortress that overlooks the valley. Built in the 12th century, the castle occupied a strategic position controlling the wine and wheat trade routes to the North, and the salt route from the East. After our visit to the castle, we will return to Strasbourg.
