The most popular geothermal spa in Iceland, the Blue Lagoon is located just 20 minutes from the Keflavík International Airport along the way to the capital city of Reykjavík. The water waters here are rich in sulfur, silica, and minerals that have been dredged up from 2,000 metres below the surface of the earth which a mixture of fresh and saltwater that's been heated at extreme temperatures. Due to the combination of silica, algae & minerals, the surface of the lagoon appears blue when it reflects sunlight, however it is actually white when not exposed to sunlight.

Stunning, Magical, and Fun

Budget accommodations were surprisingly cozy. The guide was patient and fun. Blue Lagoon was relaxing, the Icelandic horses were adorable, and geothermal greenhouses were fascinating. Each day had something unique, and the Northern Lights program made it all feel special.

Wonderful guide and driver. Being with Xavier on the trip felt like having a favorite uncle showing off his beloved country. The trip was well thought out, perfectly planned, with just the right mix of activity and rest.
