The Western New Hampshire city is named after Lebanon, Connecticut because many of its early inhabitants came from there. Lebanon was founded in 1761 by New Hampshire Colonial Governor Benning Wentworth. City points of interest include Lebanon Opera House, the Alliance for the Visual Arts Gallery, Packard Hill Covered Bridge, Powerhouse Shopping Mall and Colburn Park.
