Celebrated English playwright William Shakespeare was born in 1564 and grew up in this 16th Century house along Henley Street in Stratford-upon-Avon. Shakespeare's Birthplace is now a museum operated by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. The house and visitor center features period furniture, a window inscribed with the signatures of visitors to the house throughout the years, a giant wallbook of 38 Shakespeare plays, his father John Shakespeare's glove making workshop, Shakespeare play performances, a garden and many exhibits.
