It is said that the tower of this mosque is to Marrakesh what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, and once you lay eyes upon it, you'll understand why. Located in the medina, or old town, of Marrakesh, it rises over 250 feet above the city. Designed in a traditional Almohad style, it is constructed of sandstone and adorned with gilded copper orbs, a decoration unique to Morocco.
