Heroes’ Square was built to commemorate the 895 Magyar conquest of Hungary. At its center you will find the Millennium Monument and 120-foot Column, which is capped by a statue of the Archangel Gabriel. Behind the column is a semicircular colonnade with statues of famous men who made their mark on Hungarian history.
