The 4,737-foot granite dome-shaped rock formation of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range is located in California's Yosemite National Park and has metal cables along its side to assist hikers. Half Dome's 8.2-mile Cable Route is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
