Gyeongbokgung Palace, built in 1395, is the largest of Seoul’s Five Grand Palaces and a symbol of the Joseon Dynasty. Although destroyed and reconstructed several times throughout history, the palace remains a magnificent cultural site. Visitors can explore its grand gates, traditional halls, and the serene Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, set on a reflective pond. Daily guard-changing ceremonies at the main gate attract many tourists, while the National Palace Museum and National Folk Museum within the grounds provide deeper historical context. Renting hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) to tour the palace has also become a popular experience. Gyeongbokgung is a must-see landmark for anyone interested in Korea’s history and heritage.

Great overall experience on this Korea circuit. Having transport, admissions, and several lunches included took stress out of planning. Seoul’s Changdeokgung Palace visit was memorable. The only downside was the occasional language barrier with announcements, but the guide always tried to clarify.
