See where the Holy Roman Emperors were elected at this monumental red-sandstone structure in Frankfurt’s Altstadt (Old Town). The Gothic Frankfurt Cathedral, aka Kaiserdom Sankt Bartholomaus, is also the site where the Kaisers (Emperors) were later crowned. Its museum exhibits coronation robes of the imperial electors, the oldest of which date back to the 1400s.
