Best Time to Travel to Busan

The best time to start your Busan trip is during spring, from April to May, and autumn from September to October. The weather is mild, the humidity is low, and the skies are clear—perfect for exploring the city's beaches and coastal trails. Average temperatures range from 10–17 °C (50–63 °F) in spring and 14–21 °C (57–70 °F) in autumn.

In contrast, summer (July–August) is hot and humid with frequent rainfall, averaging 22–28 °C (72–82 °F). However, summer is also the busiest season at Busan's beaches. Winter from December to February sees average temperatures of 2–8 °C (36–46 °F), making it relatively mild compared to northern cities. Though less crowded, this season suits those who prefer a quieter atmosphere.

How Many Days in Busan Is Enough?

3-4 days is the ideal length of time to explore Busan, allowing you ample time to visit the main attractions and sample local cuisine without feeling rushed.

Busan's public transportation system is highly developed, with the subway serving as the primary mode of travel for sightseeing.

● Subway: Busan currently has 4 subway lines covering most attractions in the city. Single-ride tickets cost between 1,300 and 1,800 KRW.

● Taxis: Busan taxi fares start at approximately 3,800–4,000 KRW, making them suitable for groups or nighttime travel.

You can use T-Money or Cashbee cards, which can be purchased at convenience stores and recharged at subway stations.

There's also abalone congee and octopus dishes.

La mejor época para visitar Busan

Invierno 2026/2027
Winter in Busan offers a much milder climate compared to inland cities like Seoul due to the moderating influence of the ocean. Average temperatures generally hover between 2°C and 10°C (36°F to 50°F), with temperatures rarely dropping below freezing and snowfall being a rare event. The air is typically dry and clear, influenced by cold, stable Siberian high-pressure systems, making the skies bright and sunny. This is the low season for tourism, offering minimal crowds and the lowest prices outside of the major holidays. The mild temperatures are perfect for enjoying the city's vast indoor food markets, exploring the Jagalchi Fish Market, and taking quiet walks along the less-crowded, windswept beaches.

Primavera 2026
This season in Busan is defined by the Vernal Invigoration, as the city quickly sheds the last of winter's chill and embraces warmer temperatures and gentle sea breezes. Average temperatures make a rapid ascent, transitioning from a cool 8°C to a pleasant 20°C (46°F to 68°F), making it an ideal time for extended walks along Haeundae Beach or cultural excursions to the colourful Gamcheon Culture Village. The early spring months bring the stunning spectacle of cherry blossoms, which typically peak in late March and early April, transforming the coastal roads and mountainsides into vibrant scenery. Rainfall remains low, ensuring reliably sunny conditions perfect for outdoor activities.

Verano 2026
Summer brings the Solstice Heatwave to Busan, characterized by intense heat, very high humidity. Average temperatures consistently range from 24°C to 30°C (75°F to 86°F), but the high humidity often pushes the heat index far higher, making the air feel thick and heavy. July and August are the peak rainy months, with heavy, sudden downpours and the highest risk of typhoons, which can cause significant coastal disruption. Despite the challenging weather, this is the peak domestic holiday season, Haeundae and Gwangalli beaches bustle with activity, and the sea is perfectly warm for swimming. Tourists should plan to take frequent breaks from the midday heat, focus on early morning or evening exploration.

Otoño 2026
Autumn is the optimal time to visit Busan, defined by its Autumnal Refinement of weather and scenery. Temperatures cool to a delightful range of 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F), while the high summer humidity quickly drops off, leaving behind clear, crisp air and stable, sunny days. Rainfall decreases significantly, making this period excellent for all outdoor activities, including hiking in Geumjeongsan Mountain and enjoying the coast. The season is famous for the Busan International Film Festival, typically held in October, which draws large crowds. The coastal areas enjoy stable sea conditions perfect for boat tours, and the inland mountains provide a spectacular backdrop of autumn foliage as the leaves change color, providing an unparalleled blend of urban culture and natural beauty.
