See the site of the very first Olympic Games at this UNESCO World Heritage Site and sanctuary of ancient Greece. The Stadium at Olympia, a complex of temples and public buildings, lies east of the Altis, or Sacred Precinct of Zeus, and is entered through a vaulted stone archway. The start and finish lines of the stadium’s sprint track and the judges’ seats still remain.
