Mapa de Plaza de Canovas del Castillo / Lugar

This important public square in northern Madrid lies just off one of the city's main streets and serves as the hub of its Castilla neighborhood. It is home to two of the tallest buildings in Spain, coined the Gate of Europe because the twin buildings tilt towards each other. A monument to the Spanish Civil War and a golden obelisk commemorating Madrid's 300th birthday are also located here, attesting to the plaza's significance in the city's civic life.
