Park Street Church claims several firsts in the history of the United States, including the first Sunday school, the first public anti-slavery speech and the first choir performance of My Country 'Tis of Thee. The 217-foot steeple was once the first landmark travelers saw when sailing in to Boston Harbor. The Conservative Congregational church is still open for prayer and communion; as many as 2,000 devotees attend afternoon service on Sundays.
