The Boston aquarium's 200,000-gallon Giant Ocean Tank features more than 2,000 fish, sea turtles including a 550-pound green sea turtle named Myrtle, sharks and 3,000-plus corals as well as 67 windows and 52 viewing coves. Other New England Aquarium exhibits include the Amazon Rainforest, Atlantic Harbor Seals, Blue Planet Center, Coral Reef Center, Gulf of Maine, Hands-on Areas, Marine Mammal Center, Penguins, Sea Dragons and Shark and Ray Touch Tank. New England Aquarium, which opened in 1969, attracts more than 1.3 million visitors annually.
