The Texas museum founded in 1909 features the Burke Baker Planetarium, Cockrell Butterfly Center, George Observatory, Wortham Giant Screen Theatre and many exhibit halls. More than two million people visit Houston Museum of Natural Science in Hermann Park every year. Permanent exhibits include African Wildlife, The Americas, Ancient Egypt, Chemistry, Earth Forum, Gems & Minerals, Gem Vault, Energy Hall, Malacology and Texas Wildlife. It has a second facility in Sugarland, Tex. and George Observatory is located off-site at Brazos Bend State Park.
