The largest assemblage of bald eagles in the world is in this Alaska state park located near the Chilkat River and the city of Haines. Chilkat Bald Eagle Reserve was created in 1982 on nearly 50,000 acres visited by 3,000-plus eagles. There are designated viewing areas on Haines Highway from Miles 9 to 31. Other animals such as mountain goats, moose and bears can be viewed here, as well.
