This mountainous region covered in a thick blanket of black fir trees boasts some of the most attractive bodies of water in all of Germany: namely Lakes Titisee and Schluchsee, which offer a variety of activities including diving and windsurfing. All Saints and Triberg Waterfalls are well worth the visit; the thermal baths and casinos in Baden-Baden are hugely popular with weekenders and tourists; and nearby in the higher elevations, one will find plenty of options for skiing in winter, and hiking and mountain biking in summer.
