Itinerary

Depart from Wilding Hotels Fairbanks around 12 pm and travel to Running Reindeer Ranch, owned and operated by a local family who are passionate about reindeer. You will meet the cute animals, join an immersive hour-long walk alongside them through a birch forest, and learn about various adaptations that help reindeer survive in the often punishing Arctic.
Itinerary: Fairbanks – Running Reindeer Ranch – Fairbanks (approximately 4 hours round trip)
Clothing Recommendations: Down jacket, non-slip waterproof snow boots, warm clothing (top and bottom), hat, and gloves.

  • This tour requires you to bring a photo ID.
  • Please bring appropriate winter clothing, such as a down jacket, hat, gloves, boots with adequate traction, sunglasses (you would be surprised how often you may need them), etc.
  • The tour is language intensive and requires walking in cold weather.
  • Reindeer on the ranch are tame, but not trained. Please use caution when petting them.
  • Children must be supervised at all times and those under 3 must be in a backpack carrier for their safety.

Tour guides and drivers rely upon the service fees charged on the tour to supplement their income. The wages of tour guides and drivers are determined factoring in that they will receive service fees to augment their earnings. Please pay at least the recommended service fee because the tour guides and drivers work hard to accommodate many people on the tour. The fee is calculated based on the total tour date.
