Bahamas Travel Guide

The Bahamas is an archipelago comprising over 700 islands and thousands of cays, where you'll experience the laid-back island lifestyle. In the capital city of Nassau, visitors can explore the pink colored Government House and the historic Queen’s Staircase, or visit the bustling Straw Market for local crafts. Beyond the busy ports, the Out Islands offer a quieter experience. Travelers head to the Exumas to swim with the famous pigs at Big Major Cay or visit Eleuthera to see the Glass Window Bridge, where the dark blue Atlantic meets the calm turquoise bight. Activities in the Bahamas are centered on the ocean, including bonefishing, scuba diving in deep blue holes, and snorkeling among shipwrecks. The region is also famous for its Junkanoo festivals, which fill the streets with rhythmic drumming and colorful costumes.
