<6-Day>【Fall Foliage Train】Eastern Canada Tour from Toronto· Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Agawa Canyon, Gravenhurst and Niagara Falls

The highlight of this tour was definitely the Agawa Canyon fall colors and train ride. The photos I took look unreal! Niagara Falls was also amazing with plenty of time to enjoy the area. Sudbury’s local charm was a pleasant surprise. Hotels were comfortable, and transportation was well managed. The tour guide was organized and made sure we all stayed on schedule. I’d recommend this tour to friends and family.

Lovely Fall Tour

It was a perfect timing to see the fall foliage! The best part of this trip was the Agawa Canyon Train tour. It would have been nice if the passengers can switch seats in the train. I sat on the wrong side but I still saw beautiful sceneries. Also, the tour guide was really nice and helpful! A+++

<5-Day>【Fall Foliage Train】 Eastern Canada Tour from Toronto · Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Agawa Canyon, Gravenhurst and Niagara Falls

The 5-day bus tour was outstanding. Starting from Sudbury, we got a sense of northern Ontario’s quiet charm before heading to Sault Ste. Marie. The Agawa Canyon train ride was a highlight with breathtaking autumn colors. The guide was informative and very approachable, ensuring everyone was comfortable. Visiting Bethune Memorial House added cultural depth, and the final stop at Niagara Falls wrapped up the trip beautifully. Hotels were clean, buses punctual, and I felt cared for the whole time.

FAQs about Sault Tours

What is the best time to see the lavender fields in Sault?

Visit Sault from mid-June to early August for peak lavender blooms. The Fête de la Lavande occurs annually on August 15, marking the end of harvest. Early July offers the most vibrant purple landscapes before farmers begin cutting. Avoid late August if you want full fields, as harvesting clears most crops by then.

How do I get to Sault from major airports without a car?

Fly into Marseille-Provence or Avignon-Provence airports. Take a train to Avignon TGV or Apt, then connect via regional bus line 912 to Sault. Note that bus schedules are limited on weekends and holidays. Renting a car at Avignon station is often more reliable for reaching remote lavender plateaus and nearby villages like Roussillon.

Is the Luberon Regional Nature Park pass required to hike near Sault?

No specific park pass is needed to hike public trails around Sault or within the Luberon Regional Nature Park. Most paths, including those leading to lavender fields and viewpoint cols, are free and open year-round. Respect private property signs near farms. Carry water and sun protection, as shade is scarce on exposed plateau trails during summer.

What weather should I expect in Sault during winter months?

Winters in Sault are cold and occasionally snowy, with temperatures often dropping below freezing at night due to its 700-meter elevation. Daytime highs average 5–8°C. Snowfall is possible between December and February, making some rural roads impassable. Check Météo-France forecasts before traveling and carry chains if driving. Many shops close off-season.
