Best Rovinj Tours & Trips

Rovinj charms with its maze of cobblestone streets, Venetian-style houses, and a skyline crowned by the twin spires of St. Euphemia’s Church. This former fishing village blends old-world charm with coastal allure, inviting travelers to explore its hilltop basilica, linger over seafood in harborside konobas, or wander the lanes of the old town that slope toward the Adriatic. Nearby, the protected beauty of Zlatni Rt Forest Park offers cycling trails and pebble coves perfect for swimming. Rovinj pulses with Mediterranean ease, where mornings bring fish markets and evenings unfold with sunset views over the Brijuni Islands.

11-Day Croatia and Slovenia Tour from Zagreb to Dubrovnik: Bled and Split | 2 Countries and 10 Cities | 10 Breakfasts, 4 Dinners

Croatia /Slovenia tour

We really enjoyed our Slovenia and Croatia trip. We thought it was very well planned out, and the pace was great. It was wonderful to see lots of different cities and have some great experiences. The travel times were nicely broken up with stops in smaller cities and breaks. We also appreciated not having to change hotels every night. Everything was very well done. The hotels were nice for the size of our group. We’ve already recommended this trip to several friends.

FAQs about Rovinj Tours

How do I get from Pula Airport (PUY) to Rovinj, and what is the cheapest option?

The cheapest way from Pula Airport to Rovinj is by bus operated by Arriva or Feral. Take the shuttle to Pula Bus Station (15 min), then a direct regional bus to Rovinj (1.5 hrs). Total cost is under €10. Pre-book tickets via Arriva’s website to secure lowest fares. Taxis are faster (45 min) but cost €80–€100.

Is Rovinj walkable, and do I need a car to explore the town and nearby areas?

Rovinj’s Old Town is highly walkable, built on a narrow peninsula with car-free streets. Renting a car is unnecessary for town access but useful for exploring Istria’s hilltop villages, wineries, or Cape Kamenjak. Use public buses or bike rentals for coastal routes. Parking outside the core costs €1.50–€2.50/hour; book lots in advance in summer.

What is the best time to visit Rovinj to avoid crowds but still enjoy swimming and sunshine?

Visit Rovinj between late May and early June or September to mid-October. These periods offer pleasant temperatures (20–26°C), fewer crowds, and open beaches. July and August are peak season with high prices and congestion. The sea is warm enough for swimming from June to September, with minimal rainfall.

Are there local transport passes in Rovinj for tourists covering buses and museum entries?

Rovinj does not offer a unified tourist pass. Local buses (Arriva) use single or multi-ride tickets (€1.50–€6) purchasable at kiosks. For museums, the Rovinj Tourist Board offers a “Rovinj Card” granting access to five cultural sites (e.g., Batana House, City Tower) plus free bus rides and discounts on tours. Cards cost €12 (24 hr) or €18 (48 hr).
