Question 1

Which airport is closest to Reed Flute Cave and how do I get there?

Accepted Answer

Guilin Liangjiang International Airport serves the region, located about thirty kilometers from the cave. Travelers can take a direct airport shuttle bus to downtown Guilin, then hop on bus number 3 or a taxi for the short ride northwest to the attraction. The total journey takes roughly one hour depending on traffic conditions.

Question 2

When is the best time to visit Reed Flute Cave to avoid crowds and rain?

Accepted Answer

Visit between October and early December for dry weather and smaller crowds. The summer months bring heavy rains and peak tourist numbers, making the site congested. While the cave interior remains cool year-round, external paths can get slippery during the monsoon season from April through June, so plan accordingly.

Question 3

Can I use the Guilin City Pass to enter Reed Flute Cave?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Guilin City Tour Card typically includes one free entry to Reed Flute Cave within its validity period. You must present your physical pass and valid ID at the ticket gate. Note that the pass usually covers only the base admission fee and does not include optional guided audio tours or souvenir shop purchases inside the complex.

Question 4

What should I wear when exploring the inside of Reed Flute Cave?

Accepted Answer

Wear flat, non-slip shoes as the stone pathways are often wet and uneven due to natural seepage. Although Guilin is hot outside, the cave maintains a constant temperature of around twenty degrees Celsius, so bring a light jacket. Photography is allowed, but tripods are generally prohibited to prevent obstructing the narrow walkways for other visitors.
