Best Powder Tower Day Trips & Things to Do

This 213-foot-tall tower marks the start of the Royal Route that leads through medieval Old Town Prague, across Charles Bridge and to Prague Castle. It was the route royalty followed on coronation day. The tower itself was built in 1475 and used to store gunpowder in the 17th century, which is how it got its name. The tower was renovated the 1990s and is now connected to the Municipal House by a covered bridge. Be sure to see the statues on its east and west sides.
