Nelson's Column, which is a monument to British Admiral Horatio Nelson for defeating the French in the Battle of Trafalgar, is in Place Jacques-Cartier. The square lined with Victorian street lights has restaurants, hotels, flower shops, artists, musicians and vendors. Vehicles are not allowed during the summer months.
