Goat Island, formerly called Iris Island, received its current name because local John Stedman used to keep goats on it. Bridges connect the island to the mainland and nearby Luna Island. 2-Day All-Inclusive Niagara Falls Tour from New York | Watkins Glen & Finger Lakes

This was my first visit to the area, so I wanted an itinerary that covered the obvious highlights without requiring a rental car. Finger Lakes was the stop I expected to like most, but Watkins Glen ended up being the surprise of the trip. The schedule was full, yet the main stops did not feel like five-minute photo breaks. Our guide explained the plan clearly and gave practical tips about food, restrooms, and meeting points. Be aware that the departure is early and the schedule is fairly full for two days. Overall, I thought the balance was good for a first trip, especially if your priority is seeing a lot rather than spending long afternoons at one place.
