Located along Resurrection Bay, this aquarium and ocean mammal rehabilitation facility has a 55,000-square-foot exhibit area displaying resident animals such as otters, seals, whales, walruses and seabirds. Alaska SeaLife Center opened in 1998 on a seven-acre site donated to it by the Alaskan city of Seward. It is visited by approximately 150,000 people per year. Alaska SeaLife Center offers guided tours and many animal encounters.
