Canada's capital city along the Ottawa River is highlighted by the exquisite architecture of Parliament Hill with the Library of Parliament and Peace Tower. Ottawa, which is located in the country's Ontario province, was originally called Bytown when it was established in 1826 and renamed in 1855. Points of interest are Rideau Canal, National Gallery of Canada, Canadian War Museum, Fairmont Château Laurier, Canadian Museum of Nature and Rideau Hall.
