Explore natural marvels and Argentine wine on full day journey from Salta to Cafayate via the Lerma Valley. You'll see the carved rock formations of Quebrada de las Conchas, visit a winery in Cafayate and taste the best wines of the region. Our day trip from Salta will lead us south to the lovely city of Cafayate. After picking you up from your hotel in Salta, we'll depart from Salta and travel down route 68, crossing the Lerma Valley and its historic towns. Reaching Quebrada de las Conchas (the Shell's Gorge), you will discover how the wind and erosion carved curious shapes on the rocks. This natural phenomenon created many marvelous constructions such as the Amphitheatre, the Devil's Throat, The Toad, The Castles and others. Then, you will head towards Cafayate, where you will visit some fine wineries, famous for their production of Torrontes, a wine with special characteristics due to the particularities of the climate, land and it height. Here we will visit the wineries and the city of Cafayate, founded in 1840 in between the Calchaquíes valleys. You have a lunch in Cafayate and then start heading back to Salta, passing through the Quebrada de las Conchas once again, characteristic for its colorful contrasts, and the Lerma Valley, where you can see the Dique Cabra Corral. The afternoon return will allow you to rediscover the valleys with a whole new light, highlighting its colors. After arriving in Salta, you will be taken back to your hotel.
