Highlights

• Walk across the enchanting Perito Moreno Glacier • Cruise on the gorgeous Rico Lake • Explore the amazing Los Glaciares National Park

Itinerary

This excursion will take you to trek on the famous Perito Moreno Glacier. This is a one of a kind experience taking you to explore the corners of the Glacier, equipped with crampons and accompanied by specialists. You will have the opportunity to wander on the ice, navigate the lake by boat and discover the Los Glaciares National Park for a full day excursion After picking you up at your hotel in Bariloche, the excursion will begin in the embarking pier located in “Bajo de las Sombras” port, about 6 km before the glacier Balconies- where you embark for a 20 minutes navigation across the Rico Arm, enjoying breathtaking views of the Perito Moreno glacier’s front wall. You will then disembark on the opposite shore where our specialized bilingual mountain guides will welcome you and lead you to a small shelter. After checking the last details the groups of no more than 20, will follow their guides along the lake’s shore towards the edge of the glacier. Once on the ice the guides put each participant a pair of crampons and other needed equipment and you will receive a brief security talk along with an explanation of how to walk with the crampons. The two hours circuit will introduce you to the fascinating landscape of the glaciers: streams, small lagoons, gullies, crevasses and plenty of ice formations of the most incredible blues. The ice surface over which you walk is irregular, but firm and safe. You will receive explanations about flora, fauna, general glaciology of the region and also about the particular phenomenon that happens in the Perito Moreno Glacier and eventually produces its rupture. After the walk, we'll have a stroll through the forest to the shelter, from where you will embark again to go back to shore. The transfer from the shore to your hotel will only take 20 minutes.
