Highlights

• Explore Ile de la Cite, where Paris was settled • Admire the Gothic architecture of Notre Dame Cathedral from the outside, and Sainte Chapelle from the inside • Skip the line to the Louvre to discover artworks such as Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo

Itinerary

Beginning in the heart of the city, where Paris was founded, you and your group will stroll along the Seine River to spot landmarks such as the Conciergerie, Marie Antoinette's prison before her execution in 1793. Your English-speaking guide will take you close to the much-loved Cathedral of Notre Dame, saved from destruction so many times. You’ll hear about the years of construction, its extraordinary facade and how it reflected the changing fortunes of Paris. Once you've admired the exterior of this survivor, continue to nearby Sainte Chapelle where your guide will whisk you past the crowds with Skip-the-Line access before saying goodbye. You are free to explore this hidden Gothic nirvana of stained glass at your own pace before taking a break to find some lunch (own expense). Your second major Parisian landmark awaits just a short walk away, where the Louvre holds more than one million pieces of art under one roof. Once again you'll skip the long lines to soak up the world-famous works of art inside. Your art historian will lead you to the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, as well as Michelangelo's Slaves and, of course, the Mona Lisa. Listen as your expert art historian brings these works of art to life with back-stories, fun facts, and knowledge the way only a true art aficionado can. This unique combination of art, architecture and pure Parisian history makes for a special experience, making the most of your day and saving you money. Most importantly, the memories created, and insights gained, at these iconic sights will stay with you long after you bid farewell to Paris.
