Touch a stingray, feed a parakeet, and marvel at the gigantic sharks, tarpons and rays in the 400,000-gallon Gulf of Mexico exhibit. Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is located along the banks of the Mississippi River in the historic French Quarter. Ranked as one of the top five aquariums in the US, the aquarium spans the underwater world from the Caribbean to the Amazon Rainforest, to the waters that give New Orleans its lifeblood: the Mississippi River and Gulf of Mexico. Be sure to check out the ever-popular penguins and the rare white alligators! Your Aquarium experience includes one nature documentary movie at Entergy Giant Screen Theater, the largest screen in the Gulf South. Enjoy the wonders of nature through a variety of 3D giant screen features, including a 4k digital projection system and state of the art Dolby Atmos multidimensional sound.
