Swamp and Two Plantations Tour**from New Orleans w/ lunch**

This fully-immersive tour gives visitors a real taste of the bayou and a double whopping of Louisiana's distinct plantation heritage. Pick-up service (at most New Orleans, Metairie and Kenner area hotels) begins at 8:00 a.m. We normally return by 5:00 p.m. The first stop on our full-day tour is Laura Plantation. Built in 1805, Laura Plantation opens a window onto the lives of the Creole men, women, slaves and children that lived and worked at the farm, which has continued to produce sugar up to the present day. Afterwards we'll head to Vacherie to see the magnificent Oak Alley Plantation, famous for its 28 evenly spaced live oak trees - believed to be at least 300 years old - comprising the alley leading up to the big house. After a delicious cajun lunch, we'll visit the beautiful, privately-owned Manchac Swamp, frequented only by Cajun Pride boats, which means fewer distractions during your tour and an impressive number of alligators and other bayou wildlife. Our boats offer protection from the elements as well as high visibility for more photo opportunities and an unobstructed view of swamp flora and fauna. Duration: approximately nine hours
