Itinerary

Travel through three centuries of history, legends and romance in the Big Easy. Absorb the sights and sounds of the world-famous French Quarter and historic Jackson Square, home of The Cabildo and Presbytere museums. Visit the Cities of the Dead and learn about this unique above-ground burial system. Marvel at stories of voodoo and piracy on Bayou St. John, the waterway used by Jean Lafitte and his band of pirates, as we make our way to the shores of Lake Pontchartrain. View the longest bridge in the world, the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. Follow the path of the St. Charles Avenue streetcar, which, up until Hurricane Katrina, was the oldest continuously operating streetcar in the world. See the homes of former Kings & Queens of Mardi Gras and the stately mansions in the world-famous Garden District. See the campuses of Tulane and Loyola Universities and visit the Audubon Zoo. Following the exciting Super City Tour, we'll board the historic Steamboat Natchez for a truly authentic cruise along the Mississippi. This two-hour cruise takes you back to a time when cotton was king and life was as gentle and graceful as the current on the Mississippi. During the cruise your friendly captain will fill you in on one of the busiest ports in the world. Tour the engine room and learn how steam powers the turbines that turn the paddle wheel. We'll go past the Chalmette Battlefield where Jean Lafitte and his buccaneers joined forces with Andrew Jackson to defeat the British in the Battle of New Orleans. An authentic Creole lunch will be prepared for those purchasing in advance ($10.00/Adult). Duration: 4 hours (2-hour bus tour, 2-hour river cruise)
