Brooklyn Travel Guide

Having approximately 2.6 million residents, Brooklyn is New York City's most populous borough and was once its own city up until 1898. It was settled in the 1600s by Dutch immigrants and named Breuckelen. The 1883 construction of the Brooklyn Bridge gave the then-city greater access to Manhattan. Popular Brooklyn attractions include the Brooklyn Bridge, Coney Island, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Prospect Park, New York Transit Museum and The Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch.
