Best Icefields Parkway Tours & Trips

We booked this for a family trip and came away with far more photos than expected. I had been looking forward to Lake Louise; in the end, the scenic road between Banff and Jasper became an unexpected favorite. I would recommend comfortable shoes because several stops involve paths, viewpoints, or uneven ground. We left our evenings simple and usually found an easy meal near the hotel. The hotel changes require organization, so packing cubes turned out to be useful. We came home with several unexpected favorites, not just the famous stops.

I joined on my own and found the group friendly from the first morning. We kept thinking about the changing scenery between stops afterward, and we also appreciated the stop at the Columbia Icefield. We checked the optional activities before departure, which helped us decide how to use each stop. My father walks more slowly, and he appreciated knowing the meeting times in advance. I would book a similar route again, especially with family or friends.

First time in the Rockies and this tour delivered. Even with a full bus, it still felt well organized. Our guide knew exactly when to pull over for photos before the crowds showed up. Two hours at Lake Louise was just right—felt generous compared to other itineraries I looked at. Would book again in a heartbeat.

My wife and I really enjoyed the trip. The majority of guests were Chinese (overall 18 participants that day), but our tour guide Gordon nicely managed to tell everything in Mandarine and in English. The trip was quite cheap compared to other offers on can find, but it was still very pleasant. The tour bus was comfortable and not too big. The Icefield trip (which can be booked additionally) was quite interesting and a nice experience to have! I would recommend to book the optional Columboa Icefield Day with the Skywalk - otherwise the final part of the trip is just spending time at the tourist center (in Jasper Park), which I imagine is not very interesting for the 3.5 hours the stop will be there! On the way to the Jasper Park, there are multiple stops with very nice views, where everyone has about 15 to 20 minutes to take pictures and enjoy the atmosphere. Jasper Park is definitely worth seeing!
