The town was officially name Canmore in 1884 by Canadian Pacific Railway director Donald A. Smith. The town is known for its coal mining history; the first coal mining charter was granted by Queen Victoria in 1886. There are restrictions for future rural development due to its climate and geographic location. The town is home to many resorts and attracts many to join snow sports such as skiing and snowboarding.

The tour was paced well; we never felt rushed at iconic spots like Moraine Lake or Lake Louise. Vancouver’s Stanley Park was a peaceful start, and Vancouver Island was full of hidden gems. The Icefields Parkway was absolutely incredible, offering stunning views of glaciers and lakes. Jasper National Park was beautiful, and Lake Louise was a highlight.
