What is the age range of the tour?
We have an age range of 18 – 45 years old for our tours. Most of our guests are aged between 21-35 years old, though this range varies to slightly older with certain destinations, and are looking to experience our adventurous "flashpacking" style of travel. Our tours are perfect for people of all different backgrounds to share travel experiences with like-minded conscious fellow travellers.
How does this tour relate to your other Thailand tours?
This 10-day Classic tour offers a well-rounded exploration of Thailand, bridging the gap between the quick highlights of the Snapshot tour and the in-depth adventure of the Expedition tour. It's perfect for those who want to experience Thailand's rich culture, northern regions, and the vibrant energy of Bangkok. This tour provides a taste of everything—from city life to cultural immersion—making it an ideal choice for travellers seeking a balanced, memorable journey at a really fair price.
Where do we spend the first night on tour?
Your first night will be spent at Rambuttri Village Hotel – 95 Ram Buttri Aly, Chana Songkhram, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand
Where does the tour end?
The tour ends in Chiang Mai and an airport drop off is included on the final day of your tour to Chiang Mai International Airport.
Where should I fly into?
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).
Will I be picked up from the airport?
Yes, your tour includes an airport pick-up on Day 1. Please ensure you inform our reservations team of your incoming flight details.
How much spending money do I need for this tour?
Spending varies from person to person and you'll receive a spending guide in your welcome pack, but $30-40 USD per day is plenty on average. Tipping is not mandatory int Thailand, but it is a nice way to show appreciation for good service. We usually find it easier if your group leader says how much the tip should be and everyone can pitch in together to form a kitty which will cover you for any hotels or restaurants we visit on tour together.
Can I bring a 20kg suitcase on this trip?
As you're staying in one location during this tour, it is up to you how much luggage you'd like to bring.
Is travel insurance required?
Yes, travel insurance is required for all of our tours. It should cover medical expenses, trip cancellations, lost luggage, and personal liability. Proof of insurance may be requested before the tour begins.
Can you cater for my dietary requirements?
Yes, we can cater for most dietary requirements. Restaurants and eateries in Thailand often offer vegetarian options, and it's usually easy to find delicious and satisfying meals without meat. Please notify us of any dietary requirements you have before arriving on day 1 so we can arrange this for you where meals are included.
Will I have any free time during the tour?
There will be a small amount of free time on this tour but there are no full free days.
What is the rooming situation like?
During this tour, you'll stay in a mix of hotels, eco-lodges, and local homestays, typically in twin rooms with one night in Multi-share.
Is there WiFi throughout the trip?
Bangkok and Chiang Mai offer excellent WiFi and mobile reception, making it easy to stay connected on the tour. You may want to consider getting a local SIM card from a local provider. These will be available at the airport and many convenience stores and have affordable data plans for your short time in Thailand.
Is there safe drinking water in Thailand?
In Thailand, tap water is generally not recommended as safe to drink. While on tour we recommend sticking to bottled water, using refill stations, or using water purification methods to help you stay hydrated safely.
Is Thailand safe to travel?
Thailand is generally a safe and welcoming destination for travellers. It's advisable to stay informed about local customs and respect cultural norms, especially when visiting temples and religous sites. We provide more details about this when you receive your welcome pack.
Depending on your arrival time, your hotel room may not be available until the afternoon. Most hotels allow check-in between 1:00pm-3:00pm, however some charge a fee for early check-in. Please check at the hotel desk to see if you may store your luggage at the hotel if you wish to explore the city on your own before check-in.
