We started to join the interesting Hutong tour at 8:30am. We walked into the Hutong as if we had travelled back in time to that ancient era. The courtyard usually consists of the main house, the inverted seat, the left and right compartments and the ear rooms, forming a closed quadrangle space. Here you can feel the living atmosphere of the old Beijing people, the kind of leisurely, self-contained lifestyle. Then visit the main venues of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the Yonghe Palace, which is one of the highest specification Buddhist temples in the country. On both sides of the main hall, standing opposite each other from east to west, are the Four Heavenly Kings in clay and gold coloured sculptures. The four heavenly kings have their feet on the ghosts and monsters, indicating their duties and merits in suppressing evils and protecting the world, and finally transfer back to the hotel or airport.
