Special Notes

  • FAQs:
What is the age range of this tour?
    - We have an age range of 18 – 45 years old for our tours. Most of our guests are aged between 21-35 years old, though this range varies to slightly older with certain destinations, and are looking to experience our adventurous “flashpacking” style of travel. Our tours are perfect for people of all different backgrounds to share travel experiences with like-minded conscious fellow travellers.
Where do we spend the first night on tour?
    - The Florence Inn Hotel, New Delhi.
    Where does the tour end?
    - The tour ends back in New Delhi, at the Florence Inn.
    Where should I fly into?
    - New Delhi International Airport (DEL).
Will I be picked up from the airport?
    - We don’t include airport pick ups in this tour, but we can arrange one for you at an additional cost. You can add this on by emailing us at a later date to arrange it.
How much spending money do I need for this tour?
    - Spending varies from person to person & you’ll receive a spending guide in your welcome pack, but $30-40 AUD per day is plenty on average. You can withdraw from ATMs at various points throughout the tour. This website gives accurate prices of all the basics in the Philippines, including food and alcohol.
Tipping is not compulsory, but is very much so expected in India. There is a culture of tipping around 10% of the bill for hotels and restaurants. We usually find it easier if your group leader says how much the tip should be and everyone can pitch in together to form a kitty which will cover you for any hotels or restaurants we visit on tour together.
What are travel times like during the trip?
    - We take 2 overnight trains during the trip, both 10-12 hours each. These are both in comfortable cabins with A/C. The other travel times range between 1-6 hours and are on a combination of buses/trains.
Can I bring a 20kg suitcase on this trip?
    - We wouldn’t recommend bringing more than 15-20kg as we strictly use public transport and it will be much more comfortable for you to carry less.
Can you cater for my dietary requirements?
    - Yes, we can cater for most dietary requirements & India is a haven for vegetarians and vegans. Please notify us prior to arriving on day 1 so we can arrange this for you.
Is there WiFi throughout the trip?
    - WiFi is available at all accommodations during the trip, but it’s not reliable and we would recommend picking up a local SIM card on arrival if you need to be online.
Is there safe drinking water in India?
    - Tap water in India is unfit for consumption, but each of our accommodations that we stay in provide bottled water in the rooms and it will be available to purchase. When buying bottled water you should always make sure it is sealed before opening.
    Is India safe to travel?
    - Like all countries, appropriate caution is required as a traveller to keep yourself and your belongings safe. Provided you exercise the same caution you would in any other country and remain with the group it is perfectly safe to travel.
I am applying for my visa and I need a reference and address?
    TravelXS, No.416, 4th Floor, Som Datt Champer-II, 9
Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi, 11066.
    PHONE: +91 114 909 8660
What is the rooming situation like?
Most nights on this tour you will be in hotels, traditional havelis or even a desert glamping experience in double/twin share rooms.
Can you help with my onward travel? What are the connections like to travel around India?
    - Your guide will aid you with any onward travel you might be planning. India is extremely well-connected domestically, with loads of domestic flights and trains available. However, if travelling in high season (December – March), then it is advisable to book this as early as possible because things can sell out very quickly.

The time we mentioned in the itinerary is for reference only. Please refer to your guide on tour for the actual arrangement. The visiting order and duration might be changed according to actual and practical situation for better service.
