8-Day Yunnan Classic Tour: Kunming, Dali, Lijiang & Shangri-La

Day 1: Arrival in Kunming – 24H Private Transfer
Your Yunnan adventure begins with a 24-hour private airport or train station pickup. Transfer to the hotel in Kunming for check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore the city on your own.

Day 2: Kunming → Dali – Stone Forest & Bullet Train to Dali
After breakfast, set out to discover the Stone Forest – a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring towering limestone pillars shaped over millions of years. Explore this surreal karst landscape, taking the electric cart for a leisurely ride through stone peaks and natural bridges. In the afternoon, board a high-speed train to Dali. Upon arrival, a private driver will escort you to Dali hotel.

Day 3: Dali Highlights – Cangshan Mountain & Xizhou Tie-dye
Start your day with a ride on the Gantong Cableway up Cangshan Mountain, offering panoramic views of Erhai Lake and the ancient city below. After descending, head to Xizhou Ancient Town, where you'll enjoy a hands-on Bai tie-dye experience – a traditional craft passed down for generations. Overnight in Dali.

Day 4: Dali → Lijiang – Ideal Land, Wenbi Village & Shuanglang
Travel along the eastern shore of Erhai Lake. Visit Ideal Land (the "Santorini of Dali"), a white-washed hillside complex with panoramic terraces. Then stop at Wenbi Village, a quiet fishing village with stunning lake views. Continue to Shuanglang Ancient Town, known for its seaside cafes and the iconic Jade Pen Islet. In the afternoon, drive to Lijiang (approx. 2.5 hours). Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening exploring Lijiang Ancient Town.

Day 5: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain – Full-Day Excursion
A full-day tour to the sacred Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Ride the Glacier Park Cable Car up to high-altitude viewpoints (subject to weather). Watch the grand open-air performance Impression Lijiang directed by Zhang Yimou, featuring over 500 local ethnic performers. Then descend to Blue Moon Valley, famous for its turquoise crescent-shaped pools. Afterwards, visit Shuhe Ancient Town, a quieter former stop on the Tea Horse Road. Return to your Lijiang hotel.

Day 6: Lijiang → Shangri-La – Tiger Leaping Gorge & Dukezong Tangka
After breakfast, drive to Shangri-La (approx. 3 hours). En route, marvel at the roaring Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the world's deepest canyons. Continue to Dukezong Ancient City, where you'll participate in a Tangka painting experience – learning the intricate Tibetan Buddhist art form. Check in to your Shangri-La hotel. In the evening, stroll through the ancient town and turn the giant prayer wheel at Guishan Park.

Day 7: Shangri-La → Kunming – Napahai Lake, Potatso & High-Speed Train
After breakfast, visit Napahai Lake, a seasonal alpine wetland where yaks and horses graze against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks. Then explore Potatso National Park, China's first national park – a pristine landscape of glacial lakes, forests, and meadows (including electric cart). In the afternoon, board a high-speed train back to Kunming (approx. 4–5 hours). Upon arrival, a private driver will transfer you to Kunming hotel.

Day 8: Kunming Departure – 24H Private Airport/Train Station Drop-off
Enjoy a leisurely morning before your private transfer takes you to Kunming Airport or train station for your onward journey. Your classic Yunnan tour concludes here, leaving you with unforgettable memories of karst wonders, ancient towns, snow mountains, and Tibetan highlands.

This is a private tour with a minimum group size of 1 person(s). Once tours4fun confirms the group in writing, the tour will proceed. If the tour is canceled due to reasons related to the travel agency, compensation will be provided according to the contract's breach clauses.

Group tour notification

You'll get your group tour notification by 8:00 PM the day before departure. If you pay after 6:00 PM the day before, we'll send it by 12:00 PM on departure day. If you don't receive it, please contact tours4fun customer support. Check our website for meeting times. The time in your tour confirmation or given by our staff is final.

Booking information

Please provide accurate and complete information (name, gender, ID number, nationality, contact information, etc.) when booking to avoid booking errors and travel disruptions. You are responsible for any losses you incur due to incorrect information you provide.
If any attractions or venues cannot be visited due to unforeseen circumstances during your trip, the staff will work with you to either cancel or switch out the affected sites. Alternatively, an on-site refund can be provided based on the ticket price in your travel package (not the venue's listed price). Thank you for your understanding.
Tour times may be adjusted based on local conditions, especially for the Impressions of Lijiang Show. The Yulong Snow Mountain ropeway might close temporarily due to weather or maintenance. Your tour staff will make necessary adjustments to ensure a smooth experience.
The cableway at Yulong Snow Mountain may close due to weather or maintenance. If this happens:

1. If a smaller cableway is available, you'll receive a refund of CNY 80 per person for the price difference (no refund if originally booked for the smaller cableway).

2. If all cableways are closed, you'll receive a refund of CNY 120 per person for the larger cableway or CNY 40 per person for the smaller one.
During the non-free time, you need the tour guide's consent to leave the group. If granted, you must sign a waiver and are responsible for your safety and belongings. Unfinished parts of the tour are forfeited, and costs won't be refunded.
If there is any inconsistency between the product confirmation or supplementary terms and the main travel contract, the product confirmation or supplementary terms will take precedence.

Travel guidelines

[No Shopping] This product includes no shopping stops during the trip (shopping not organized by our company at attractions, venues, or cruise ships is excluded), and there is no compulsory shopping. If unauthorized shopping activities are verified, our company will compensate you with liquidated damages equal to 10% of the total travel expenses.
If you successfully book this product, each order will receive a Pocket Wi-Fi (portable Wi-Fi device) for the trip. Instructions will be provided when the device is distributed on the day of departure.
Please note that seasonal landscapes (e.g., maple leaves, cherry blossoms, rapeseed flowers) are dependent on weather and climate conditions, which may impact your viewing experience. Thank you for your understanding.

Transportation

Entry by vehicle is prohibited due to government regulations at Old Town of Lijiang. When staying at certain hotels, travelers may be required to walk to the hotel to check in.
If you are unable to exchange your e-ticket for a paper ticket, please proceed to the duty manager's window with your e-ticket number and identification documents to complete the exchange.
During the tour, you may be served by different vehicles and service staff. Thank you for your understanding.
Yunnan features high mountains and steep slopes with strict speed limits. Destinations are at high altitudes with low oxygen. Uphill speeds may be 20–30 mph, and air conditioning might be turned off as needed. Thank you for understanding.
The tour guide will contact you in advance to arrange the pick-up location and time based on your hotel location.
Please arrive at the designated location on time with your tours4fun booking number and traveler's name. Please take your seat according to the seat number assigned by the staff. The actual traveler must be the same as the traveler listed in the booking.
Train tickets are randomly assigned without specified bunk beds or seats, and consecutive numbers are not guaranteed. Ensure your ID details are accurate for successful verification, as tickets require real-name registration and ID verification, including passports.

Refunds and transfers require the train ticket and original ID to match. If you have a paper ticket, please handle cancellations at the train station and submit the refund voucher for processing. A business fee will be charged, and specific refund details will be based on the Ministry of Railways' guidelines.
