What are the tipping guidelines for this trip? It is customary in Latin America to tip service providers such as waiters, at approximately 10%, depending on the service. Tipping is an expected - though not compulsory - component of your tour program and an expression of satisfaction with the persons who have assisted you on your tour. Although it may not be customary to you, it is of considerable significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels. There are several times during the trip where there is opportunity to tip the local guides or drivers we use. Recommendations for tipping drivers and local guides would range from $5-10 USD per day depending on the quality and length of the service; ask your CEO for specific recommendations based on the circumstances and culture.

Also at the end of each trip if you felt your G Adventures CEO did an outstanding job, tipping is appreciated. The amount is entirely a personal preference, however as a guideline $20-25 USD per person, per week can be used.

What should I consider when planning my personal expenses and discretionary spending for this itinerary? Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while other travellers like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping and tipping. Please also remember the following specific recommendations when planning your trip.

errorSingle room supplement
Is there an extra cost for travelling solo? We believe solo travellers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and solo travellers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.
Do any exceptions apply to Rooming or “My Own Room” on my tour? Night 3: Overnight bus, nights 4-5: Pucón.

Well worth the time and money. The landscapes changed dramatically from the Andes region to the tropical coast of Brazil. Iguassu Falls was the undeniable highlight, but I also loved the relaxed atmosphere in Paraty. The group size was comfortable and the tour manager kept everything running smoothly.

A very memorable South America experience. The combination of wine tasting, volcano scenery, colonial towns, and world-famous waterfalls made every few days feel fresh. Walking the Copacabana promenade at sunset was a personal highlight. Booking and pre-trip communication were both very efficient.

This 18-day South America journey was packed with unforgettable moments. I loved the wine tasting experience in the Chilean countryside — such beautiful scenery and excellent vintages. Valparaíso was incredibly photogenic with its colorful hillside houses. Iguassu Falls was powerful and misty in the best way. The itinerary felt comprehensive yet well paced.

A fantastic route covering so many iconic destinations. Getting active in Pucón with optional outdoor activities added a fun adventurous element. The estancia experience in Argentina was a highlight and gave real insight into local ranch life. Buenos Aires brought amazing energy to the trip. Everything was well coordinated from start to finish.

One of the most diverse tours I’ve taken. The Chilean wine region was relaxing and scenic, while Buenos Aires delivered vibrant city life and great food. I especially enjoyed the ranch experience in Argentina — very authentic and fun. Ending the journey with a stroll along Copacabana was the perfect finish.
