Question 1

How do I get from Foz do Iguaçu to Puerto Iguazú and cross the border efficiently?

Accepted Answer

Cross the Tancredo Neves International Bridge between Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil) and Puerto Iguazú (Argentina) on foot, by taxi, or local bus. Ensure your passport is valid and you have any required visas. The walk takes 15–20 minutes; border runs 6 AM–10 PM. Use official currency exchange booths—do not carry large sums.

Question 2

What is the best time of year to visit Puerto Iguazú to avoid the rainy season?

Accepted Answer

Visit Puerto Iguazú between April–June or August–October to avoid peak rains. The wettest months are December–February, with high humidity and possible trail closures at Iguazú Falls. These shoulder seasons offer lower rainfall, fewer crowds, and comfortable temperatures for touring.

Question 3

Is one day enough to tour Iguazú Falls on the Argentina side?

Accepted Answer

Yes, one full day is sufficient to see the Argentina side of Iguazú Falls. Prioritize the Upper, Lower, and Devil’s Throat circuits. Arrive early to avoid crowds. Use the park’s eco-train and open-air buses to save time. Wear lightweight clothing, waterproof gear, and comfortable shoes.

Question 4

Do I need a visa to visit Puerto Iguazú from Brazil, and is the border open 24/7?

Accepted Answer

Most tourists from Brazil need only a valid passport to enter Argentina for stays up to 90 days, no visa required. The border crossing at Puerto Iguazú is not open 24/7; it operates from 6 AM to 10 PM. Arrive during daylight hours to complete entry and transportation smoothly.
