Take a taxi from Aswan International Airport to the Aswan Nile ferry dock (about 15 minutes). From there, board a small public ferry to Agilkia Island. The ferry ride takes 10–15 minutes and runs regularly. Ferries depart near the dock where feluccas gather. Taxis from the airport cost around 100–150 EGP; confirm the fare before departure.

Is Philae Temple worth visiting at night?

Accepted Answer

Yes – the Sound and Light Show at Philae Temple is a popular evening experience. It runs after sunset, typically 6:30 PM in winter and 7:30 PM in summer. Tickets cost around 200 EGP. The illuminated temple against the night sky enhances its beauty. Arrive early to secure seating and take the last ferry back to Aswan.

Question 3

What is the best time of year to visit Philae Temple?

Accepted Answer

The ideal time is between October and April, when temperatures are mild (20–28°C). Avoid summer (May–September) due to extreme heat (over 40°C). Winter months offer comfortable conditions for sightseeing. Spring (March–April) is also good, though slightly warmer. Mornings are cooler and less crowded – arrive at opening time.

The obelisk is near the city center; Philae requires a ferry. Total travel and visit time: 3–4 hours. Use taxis for city transfers (50–80 EGP between sites).
